Pregnancy Diaries: The half way mark

Hey ladies

So I have officially hit the half way mark, well this week sees me reaching 21 weeks. I feel should be zooming about the place with lots of energy  this trimester but I have to admit the past week or so I have been struggling; I feel really really exhausted, all the time. I have a lot of aches and pains too, my back in particular is always aching. I wake up fine but by lunch time my back is very sore.

Let’s talk health

Last week I had less movement than normal and as I said I just didn’t feel ‘right’, after a few days of worry I rang Holles Street and they told me to come in immediately, I spent about 4 or 5 hours in the triage area but they listened to baby’s heart beat and scanned me and all was well, it was great peace of mind. My advise to anyone is trust your instinct, if you feel off or movement seems different GO IN. I felt ‘silly’ and like a was wasting their valuable time but you know what, in hindsight, I should have called them sooner.

This week feels totally different, so much movement, all the time. I LOVE the feeling of my little baba moving. We had our big 20 week scan this week and it went so well, it’s such a great milestone and we are so so happy and relieved all seems to be well with baby. As for my type one diabetes, I am not having a good week, or maybe two weeks, my blood sugars levels are constantly changing, and so my dosage has to be changed all the time. The nurses in Holles Street are such a great help but it hasn’t been a great couple of weeks from that perspective. That’s just type one diabetes and pregnancy unfortunately, different growth levels with baba, different hormones levels and so on, all will interact with my insulin absorption and blood sugar levels.

This is the face of our joy when we got out from the scan being told everything looks healthy and well….

Let’s talk work

Everyone tells me I should be resting more, but as you mammies know, that is close to impossible with a toddler! I am a stay at home mum half of my time and the other half I run The Style Fairy, and I suppose a hell of a lot more goes on behind the scenes with The Style Fairy than you might imagine; even small things such as getting back to peoples messages, emails and comments can take so so SO long each day – Often hours! In the background I am also working on brand collaborations, pitches and proposals for potential brands,  agent meetings, brand meetings, general admin and then off course the actual content creation for the blog and all the social media pages, it’s never ending!  And truthfully?….Most of the time I feel I am not succeeding at either…..The Style Fairy or being a mammy!! But I think that’s the age old battle all working mammies feel, and I am lucky I get to spend as much time as I do with Annabelle Ivy.

As most of you will know we are also moving house and in the process of COMPLETELY doing up the house we are moving in to, we hope to be in by April… seems impossible but we have some really great people helping us. We didn’t at the beginning and it slowed things down and brought major stress on the whole project but anyway, I’ll come back to that.

Anabelle Ivy was born at 36 weeks and it is likely I will have a similar situation with this baba so hence the rush to get in and get somewhat settled, especially for Anabelle, I would love for her to have some time in her new home before the new arrival turns her whole world upside down!!

Building a house or totally renovating a house takes so much time – It totally sucks you in. To give you an idea, the house we are moving into was gutted – I mean totally totally gutted, we were essentially left with the shell, so we have all the external building work done, the windows in, re wired, re plumbed etc and now we are starting on interiors! Oh the kitchen is in, so thats a big step. I will be doing  blog on this journey in the brand spanking new INTERIORS section of The Style Fairy so keep your eyes peeled for that if interiors is your thing!

Let’s talk Faaaasssssshion

Enough moaning Naomi, get to the good stuff I hear you say 😉  Maternity fashion, so what have I bought, what am I looking at and where is the best place for maternity style?

First things first, I know, everyone wants to talk about jeans, jeans, jeans…. In fact, it’s such a hot topic I am doing a separate blog post all about maternity jeans, at the moment I am wearing a few brands so I can give my take on them all; POCOS, Penneys, ASOS, New Look, and a pair from iClothing just arrived in while I am working on this blog post. I will deffo try get around to that blog post this week.

The best place to see all latest fashion buys or bits and pieces I may get sent from brands is my Snapchat, my username is: thestylefairy. I am not on it constantly, I am not one of those people who feels the need to document EVERY element of my day (yawn), but I share bits and pieces of everything from my outfits, shopping, hauls, home, interiors, Anabelle Ivy, pregnancy, beauty products, that kind of thing!

I have bought a mix of maternity clothes and non maternity, when it comes to non maternity, I just keep an eye out for styles I know will work with a growing bump and go up a size (or two or three).

Here are a few pieces I have bought recently or that I am loving….

H&M have a really great maternity range, at good prices. I’ll reserve comment on the jeans for now, but they are great for jumpers, basics (t-shirts, tops and vests) and also some lovey dresses, jackets and knitwear. See the full range here

see here (now on sale) This is vert light weight material so needs a vest worn underneath

See here. Also comes in green

Penneys have also now launched a maternity collection, I have the jeans (again I’ll chat about those again in the jeans blog). From their maternity range I also picked up a long sleeved striped top, perfect for under blazers. I also bought a long line mustard blazer (from their normal range) to go with this. I’ll share a picture when I wear that outfit.

In general Penneys is great for picking up bits and pieces throughout pregnancy without spending a fortune. In particular keep an eye out for oversized knit wear and cardigans, jackets and blazers, shirts and blouses (just buy a few sizes up); shirts are great, I especially loved them in the later stages of pregnancy the last time, worn with a vest or t shirt and leggings.  You know yourself, but it’s handy to pick up basics there too like vests etc, although as bump starts to get bigger I prefer maternity vests as they are longer and cover bump properly.

RI don’t do maternity, but I have picked up some bits recently that I wanted to share. Blazers are a great way to dress up a simple jeans and t-shirt look and you know blazers are a big wardrobe staple for me, they are ideal in pregnancy too, just buy a size up, and wear with your maternity jeans. I got this first one, (I got the size 12) but River Island have a really great selection of blazers in at the moment:

I LOVE love love ASOS, pregnant or not pregnant. But as it happens they have one of the absolute best maternity wear collections. I often recommend ASOS for maternity occasion wear, some really fab, on trend pieces. They also stock a range of maternity brands so it makes life easier when it is all on the one website.

Here are some top picks from their maternity occasion wear range:

Don’t get me wrong, I am also a big fan of wearing ‘normal’ clothes where possible, I don’t believe you always have to choose from the maternity ranges. Keep an eye for dresses that are stretchy or have the right cut and shape that will accommodate the bump – Wrap dresses for example are great!

For example just bought this dress, it’s not maternity so I went up a size and it sits lovely on bump

See here

I also bought this, again, not maternity but plenty of room for bump. Love this dress. Also blazer style dresses are great as by their nature they are smock style so work great for maternity wear.

Lastly, I also bought this oversized tunic top, it’s so comfy and perfect over bump, add a belt above bump if yo want t define your curves a little! And it’s on sale!!!! I can’t wait to style this up!

Another tunic style top, also on sale

Topshop also do a great maternity range, on the pricier she but some fab pieces. Great for knitwear, pyjamas, and day dresses. Spotted this dress this week and it’s really nice.

iClothing have a maternity range, although it is a little small at the moment, hopefully they expand….pardon the pun 😉  See their full maternity range here.

See here

I have these leather look trousers, lovely stretchy fabric, I haven’t worn them yet but can’t wait, I would style with them a chunky polo neck jumper or wear with one of those tunics from ASOS I showed above.

iClothing also have some fab wrap dresses, non maternity but would still work very well over bump.

Elora Maternity

Elora Maternity is an Irish owned online maternity boutique. I wore lots from them in my last pregnancy and plan to again this time. Visit their site here.  They stock beautiful maternity jammies , as well as some gorgeous occasion wear dresses, plus some nice day to day tops. Here are some pieces that caught my eye, although the owner of Elora Maternity has been in touch with me and said they are expecting a lot of new stock over the coming weeks.

Zara obviously doesn’t do maternity wear but I love them for  blouses, tunics, blazers and basic vests.

Isabella Oliver

This is one of my favourite maternity brands but be warned it doesn’t come cheap. But the quality is second to known. I invested in a white shirt from them in my last pregnancy and it is still perfect:

See here

It also comes in a red stripe and a blue stripe – so fab! If you do invest it will be worthwhile

See here

If you have an office job there are some really stunning work wear pieces, all very high quality. Plus they do some stunning dresses too.

Ok I think that’s more than enough fashion for this time.

‘Til next time

Christmas Party Looks from Kildare Village

Hey ladies

With Christmas just around the corner, Christmas Party Outfit ideas are on the top of everyones agenda. We have been getting countless emails and requests over the past few weeks with readers looking for outfit inspiration for the festive season so the timing for my trip to Kildare Village couldn’t have been any better 🙂

When Kildare Village invited me down and asked me to style some Christmas Party looks and pick my top Christmas buys I jumped at the chance. I absolutely LOVE Kildare Village, if you have never been you need to add it to your list. It is an incredible destination, a shopper’s paradise, plus it’s so festive right now you should see all the Christmas lights and decorations; it’s really lovely and it certainly got me in the festive spirit!

You may have seen some of the behind the scenes from my trip to Kildare Village? I shared lost of images of my Christmas buys plus some sneak peaks of some of the outfits I styled for my “Christmas Party Edit”. There is such vast variety in Kildare Village, it was easy to find stunning festive party looks, the problem was trying to narrow it down as I saw so much that I loved! In the end, we shot a total of six stunning Christmas Party Outfits; each one very different with a variety of styles to suit everyone; from dresses to suits, to skirts and jumpsuits.

In Kildare Village, you have so much choice with retailers including;  LK Bennett, Kurt Geiger, Reiss, Ted Baker and French Connection to The Kooples, DKNY, Karen Millen, Kate Spade and Lulu Guinness , and that’s only a handful of ladies fashion. I haven’t even mentioned accessories, beauty, kids wear or men’s fashion. The discounts available are amazing too. Trust me, do yourself a favour and arrange a girls shopping trip down to the village, you can thank me later 😉

Christmas Party Edit

So here are my six Christmas Party Looks; whether is a fancy Christmas Party Night or a more low key Christmas lunch to a glam dressy affair there is something here to suit!

Starting with this fine knit jumper and a-line cream skirt. I adore this look; this skirt is such a flattering shape, it really cinches you in at the waist.  This burgundy shade is a massive trend for this winter season too.

This is a more low key, feminine, elegant look; ideal for a Christmas soiree or a Christmas lunch in the city. I finished this look with this stunning velvet bag and these embellished heels… I LOVE these heels! You would get lots of wear from this skirt worn with different colours and styles of topsand similarly this jumper could be dressed down and worn with jeans.

Outfit Details

JUMPER: Ted Baker, €85 (Original price €119) SKIRT: Ted Baker, €115 (Original price €210) HEELS: Ted Baker, €100 (Original price €190) BAG: Reiss, €60 (Original price €195)

Next up, who doesn’t love some sequins and sparkle for the festive party season? This dress instantly caught my eye…

The moment I put this dress on I loved it; it is really comfortable to wear and a really well cut, flattering shape, the v neck is always a flattering style. Plus it’s super soft and easy to wear. I finished this look with this divine purple wool coat from LK Bennett, wow what a coat, I love the longer length.

Outfit Details

DRESS: French Connection, €114 (Original price €245) COAT: LK Bennett, €300 (Original price €450) HEELS:  Kurt Geiger, €45 (Original price €110)

Next up some leopard print mixed with this DIVINE camel coat. I love this dress; although it’s leopard print, it is not loud or OTT; it is a lovely feminine & elegant shape, and has stunning black lace detail on the sleeves.

Just look at the detail on this… Fab! I also love the length, makes it really classy.

This is ideal for someone who likes a more laid back look. This stunning camel coat really pulls the whole look together and a camel coat is such a fantastic wardrobe staple; a coat you will have and wear for years to come (Check out the discount on it!!!)

Outfit Details

DRESS: The Kooples, €145 (Original price €285) COAT: Reiss, €295 (Original price €435) Shoes are Naomi’s own

Full on glamour for this next look and probably one of my favourites from the whole day.

I adore a jumpsuit for an occasion, such a great alternative to a dress. I really like the neutral colour palette on this one and the fit and cut was perfection on (Reiss are wonderful for good tailoring in jumpsuits like this)

I styled the jumpsuit with this cropped, embellished jacket draped over my shoulders. This jacket would be such a great wardrobe investment; it would go with lots and really finishes the look and adds an aire of total glamour. Just look at the detail on the collar…

This outfit would be be perfect for a really glamorous Christmas party or it would be beautiful for a wedding or an occasion.

Outfit Details

JUMPSUIT: Reiss, €240 (original price €370) JACKET: Ted Baker, €179 (original price €249)  (Shoes are Naomi’s own)

You know the feeling when you put a dress on and you instantly fall in love? This happened with this dress. It fits like a glove, really cinches you at the waist; it’s an all round stunning shape, style and cut. A really glamorous dress, I just felt so happy and comfortable in this as soon as I had it on.  I love the metallic colours going through it. This has a total wow factor for me.

And yes, there was a snow machine – You may have seen the behind the scenes craic on my Snapchat, but boy did we laugh!  I love this picture, not only is this 100% ME in a photo but it also shows the dress in all it’s glory; I love the length!

I finished this look with this stunning faux fur cape, probably the softest faux fur I have ever worn, a timeless wardrobe staple you would wear for years to come.

Outfit Details

DRESS: LK Bennett, €429 (Original price €715) FAUX FUR: Reiss, €130 (original price €195) UMBRELLA: Lulu Guinness, €19.40 (Original price €40) (Shoes are Naomi’s own)

Last but not least, something totally different for you 😉 Something I hear from you lovely ladies is we want something ‘different’ so whether that’s for your graduation, a christening, a wedding, your Christmas party, you want style and glamour, but not the same old… So this incredible suit is ideal.

It’s classic yet edgy, stylish, cool and incredibly well cut. It fits so well. I also love that it has sparkle detail going though it, makes it ideal for this time of year.

You could wear a simple little cami under this or just a lacey bralet underneath. A real edgy, girl boss look.  Plus you could wear this jacket draped over your shoulders with a classic dress and equally you could wear these trousers on their own too;  a suit is a really smart wardrobe investment.

Outfit Details

BLAZER: Reiss, €160 (original price €370) TROUSERS: Reiss, €100 (original price €195)

So, which is your favourite look?

So there you have it ladies, 6 Christmas Party Outfit Ideas, which one is your favourite? As always, I would love to hear from you. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the post

Outfit Diaries: Black Tie Ball

Hey ladies

** Dress back in stock – see here **

In May we attended the Make a Wish Charity Ball in the Burlington Hotel. It was such a wonderful night and for an incredible cause. The work that this charity do for sick children is just outstanding and brings so much joy to these kids. See more of their work here.

The brilliant Deirdre O’Reilly did my make up, I love that girl, she is so talented and an absolute sweetheart too. It’s always a pleasure to be around Deirdre. I showed her the dress and asked for her for a really natural ‘dewy’ look, I wanted lots of highlight and a glowing look, with simple but defined eyes and a nude/ pink lip (She used MAC Velvet Teddy on my lips)

img_8049 img_8048

I had my hair done by Sinead in Harpers Salon, I ask her for old Hollywood style curls and I loved how it turned out. She did exactly what I was looking for. The headpiece I wore I have a few years now (I bought it for my brothers wedding). It’s from Jules Bridal Jewellery , which is actually the same place I bought the head piece I wore the evening of my wedding 🙂

I was in love with my dress – The moment I saw it i just totally fell for it. It is from the Premium Occasion Wear Collection at River Island. The entire collection is stunning, perfect for any occasion and although it is pricer than the standard River Island collections, the quality is absolutely amazing.

The dress felt amazing on, and the intricate beading detail throughout is simply divine. I LOVED the fact that it had long sleeves. Plus the v neck style is so flattering. It also has an open back (not totally backless). It would make a beautiful wedding dress for someone who was looking for something more simple than a traditional gown, or for a bride that wanted a second dress for her big day!

You can view the dress HERE

Or if you have a black tie ball coming up then I highly recommend choking out the River Island Occasion Wear section – It’s so fab!

Dress – River Island

Dundrum Town Centre Ladies Day

Hi ladies

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to team up with Dundrum Town Centre, what a dream come true for me and if you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram you may have seen some snippets of the day? It was a really brilliant day!

This year, Dundrum Town Centre are the very proud sponsors of Ladies Day at the RDS Dublin Horse Show. Ladies’ Day at the Dublin Horse Show is the longest running and most prestigious Ladies Day outing in Ireland and is the highlight of the social calendar for many.

The winner of this years day will win a whopping €10,000 Gift Card to spend at Dundrum Town Centre! WOW! Imagine the fun you would have spending that?

The Dundrum Town Centre Ladies Day takes place on Thursday 10th August. You can purchase tickets for the RDS Horse Show HERE.  For more information on Ladies Day;  how to enter, where to go, who the judges are etc, you can check out the Dundrum Town Centre website HERE. Judges on then day include; stylist Courtney Smith, fashion editor Bairbre Power and Dundrum Town Centre personal stylist Lorna Claire Wightman. MC on the day will be the gorgeous Cassie Stokes, presenter of Xposé.

Dundrum Town Centre have so many incredible retailers; it is the perfect place to search for your winning Ladies Day look. From the likes of Harvey Nichols and House of Fraser, both of which are exclusive stores to Dundrum Town Centre, to Hobbs, Coast, Mint Velvet, Karen Millen, LK Bennett, Cath Kidson, River Island, Zara, Oasis and so many more. It has the perfect combination of highstreet to more exclusive labels making it the ideal; ‘go to‘ destination to mix & match and pull together some incredible outfits.

My task for the day was to style outfits for Ladies Day that I think had that winning edge and will hopefully give you some ideas on what to wear to the Dundrum Town Centre Dublin Horse Show Ladies Day.

How to Dress for Ladies Day

When it comes to Ladies Day so many women can feel totally overwhelmed and unsure what they should wear,  how to put their outfit together, what shops to go to etc. My goal when I visited Dundrum Town Centre was to style some gorgeous Ladies Day looks from the vast array of shops at Dundrum Town Centre; to give all you ladies some ideas & inspiration on what to wear for the day. There is no “Right” look; there are no set ingredients to winning Ladies Day; my best advise would be embrace your own personal style, do not dress to please the judges and their personal style, please yourself and  be confident, comfortable and happy in what you wear; that really shines through. Don’t be afraid to add a bit of individual style and flair. You don’t have to dress up in what you think is traditionally “ladies day’ attire, instead, think outside the box, go for what you love, what flatters you and embrace that. Having judged various Ladies Days in the past, it shines through when someone is comfortable, happy and confident in their look. Don’t forget accessories too; they are the key to completing your look.

Coat , €300 & Dress €80, was €300 : Hobbs
Headpiece: Coast, €35
Heels (€180): Hobbs
Clutch: Coast, €30

I always think, where possible, it is great to embrace colour for Ladies Day, wearing the right colour for you can really enhance your features and it is a sure fire way to get noticed by the judges. This coat from Hobbs jumped out to me from miles away – the detail is spectacular, I choose to focus in on the pink and style the coat based on that (you could go for the cobalt blur or the yellow or the green either) A really stylish, well cut, good fitting dress coat is always a classic and elegant look for Ladies day. Keep your accessories paired back and let the coat do the talking 😉

Jumpsuit, €64 Jacket, €87  and Bag, €29: River Island
Headpiece: Coast, €45

Dressing for Ladies Day does not mean you need to wear expensive, designer looks, this look is all from River Island and I absolutely love it. It is  not as ‘traditional’ let’s say as my previous look, but is striking, stylish and that little bit different.

This jacket is stunning, I love the colour and the detail; it looks so much more expensive! A jumpsuit is a great alternative to a dress or a skirt for Ladies Day too.

Top: River Island, €35
Skirt, €75 & Bag, €60: Coast

Something totally different for my third look, I love how whimsical this look is. This skirt is just so feminine and beautiful. Very Carrie Bradshaw inspired!! I wanted to show you something really alternative, but still so wearable for Ladies Day. I really felt like a princess in this outfit and the amount of women who stopped me during our photoshoot to ask where this skirt was from was insane!!! Everyone loved it!

I decided to keep accessories to a minimum for this look, sometimes less is more. I think that is key with Ladies Day too, a lot of us fall into the trap of ‘over doing it’. I see this time & time again with Ladies Day, not ever single item in your look needs to be statement. Quite often, less really is more, in so many ways.

Dress: Harvey Nichols (label is called ‘Keepsake the Label), €170
Jacket: Harvey Nichols (Label is Moschino), €370 (was €740)
Clutch: Accessorize, €30
Headpiece: Accessorize, €20

Before I even knew I would be working with Dundrum Town Centre on this collaboration, I had my eye on this dress!! I love the shape, the colour, the cut – Everything! While browsing in Harvey Nichols (who have such stunning labels by the way).

I came across this Moschino duster coat in Harvey Nichols too, it matched perfectly, I thought the duster coat/ jacket really finished the look and gave it a more elegant edge. I kept the blush tones and went for this embellished bag from Accessorise, and last but not least, a nude coloured headpiece also from Accessorize.

Dress: Harvey Nichols (Label is ‘Aidan Mattox’), €375
Jacket: Harvey Nichols (Label is ‘Pinko’), €168 (was €238)
Clutch: Karen Millen, €125
Headband: Acccessorize, €20

This, without a shadow of a doubt is my favourite look I have worn in a long time. This jacket, expensive? yes! Incredible? Oh yes! On sale? Whoo yes!

I instantly fell in love with this impeccable, embroidered maxi dress from Aidan Mattox at Harvey Nichols, the detail is amazing, but I wanted to give it a more structured, more elegant finish, so the moment I saw this lime jacket from Pinko, I knew it would really bring the look to life. I adore the contrasting colours.

Top, €110 & Skirt, €170: Coast
Headpiece, €35 & Clutch, €30: Coast

Time and time again, black and white works. It is so timeless and classic. This skirt from Coast is simply STUNNING., it’s so different, super figure hugging and so flattering. The top is available as a match; so classic.

I love this headpiece, so dramatic and really added to the overall look. I kept the black & white theme throughout, right down to the clutch bag

So there you have it ladies, 6 outfits head-to- toe, all very different from each other and all perfect for Ladies Day at the Dublin Horse Show. Hope you enjoyed the post ladies and really hope it gave you some inspiration. If you are heading to Ladies Day; have an absolute ball, that’s the main thing.

Occasion Wear Style with iClothing.ie

Hey ladies

So excited to finally share this post with you 🙂 A couple of weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to work with iClothing on an Occasion Wear photo shoot. What a day!! From start to finish it was incredible and the looks I got to wear for the shoot were stunning.

So if you have a big occasion coming up over the next few months, whether it’s a wedding or the races or anything in between… then you need to keep reading!

Don’t forget there is a special Style Fairy 15% discount across everything on iClothing with the code TSF15. Please note this discount does not apply to sales stock and is valid for one use per customer per month.

We shot on location in the beautiful Killashee Hotel ;  such a gorgeous hotel and the grounds are stunning. The team from iClothing were awesome; from the photographer Alex Hutchinson to the styling team to hair & make up – All complete pros, so it was a pleasure to work with them.

There is no doubt about it, we ALL struggle when it comes to finding that perfect occasion wear outfit, we all want to look and feel our absolute best on that special day and not spend a fortune while doing that 😉 I hope these stunning looks from iClothing will give you lots of ideas & inspiration for you next big occasion.

Shop the full “STYLE FAIRY EDIT” on iClothing here

This first look features this blush pink culotte jumpsuit, I fell in love with look instantly, it is very me. Plus it is such a nice alternative to a dress for a special occasion. I adore it styled with this floral cropped jacket, gives it that extra edge. You could even just wear this jacket draped over your shoulders either.

This next look in one word is elegance. This dress is so elegant, timeless and so so flattering. Those lace sleeves.. Wow! And you can’t see it here but the back detail is gorgeous, those lace sleeves come into a small cape at the back, just stunning. I predict this one is going to a big big seller ladies so don’t delay. A piece that will never date in your wardrobe, trust me.

This next look is something totally different, I love this dress, and my eyes were drawn straight to it on the day. Fab detail around the neckline plus a dress with sleeves is ALWAYS a winner for me. The vertical stripes are also so flattering; they really elongate the body (and who doesn’t want that eh?!)

This next look is so feminine and fabulous, this shape for me is always a winner. I am a classic pear shape meaning I am larger on the bottom half (bigger hips and bum) but smaller bust and waist, so for that shape, a classic a-line kick out style dress like this is ideal. It really cinches you in at the waist

I am all about colour! But so many Irish women are afraid to embrace colour, but trust me a burst of colour will do wonders for you. This classic dress is available in this vibrant yellow I wore but also in cerise pink and cobalt blue. I love the shape and fit of this dress, I felt really comfortable in this.

This pretty & girly number was really fun to wear, it’s the kind of dress you just want to twirl in; I love the full skirt. Again this shape and cut is so flattering because is really cinches in your waist and then kicks out making your waist appear smaller plus it hides and lumps or bulges in the tummy area – Win win!

This dress… WOW! I felt like a princess in this one. This shape is so beautiful and this pale blue colour is just stunning. This would be gorgeous for an occasion or it would make a stunning dress for your bridesmaids either. I just love this dress.

This next look is a totally different style and shape to any of the other looks and that’s what I loved so much about this photoshoot; such variety. This was a clear favourite among my Snapchatters; everyone seemed to love this one And I can see why; the embellished neckline on this dress is so striking and makes it such an elegant look. This shift style dress is such a classic shape and makes it such a sophisticated and timeless look. I also adorned this mint green shade, but it does also come in pink and cream. I think the area, version would be gorgeous for a bride for the day after her weeding.

Last but certainly not least, I love how dramatic this dress is. This dress would be perfect for a really glamorous occasion and would even be ideal for a black tie ball or wedding.

Hope you enjoyed the post ladies

Holiday Essentials with Littlewoods Ireland

Hey ladies

Well if you have been following me over the past you’ll know myself and my family were off in Portugal on our holidays (I’ll be doing a full blog post separately on our holidays and my experience and advise for travelling with a toddler) but the focus of this blog post is all about my top fashion ‘Holiday Essentials’ in collaboration with Littlewoods Ireland. You may know I have worked with Littlewoods Ireland before and I am huge fan of their collections, particulaly their own V by Very range.

Shop this look here

Before I headed on holidays I got to choose my favourite pieces from the V by Very range to bring along with me (I know – heaven!!) Here’s what I picked. In addition, I’ve also included some other top ‘Holiday Essentials’ from Littlewoods Ireland. If you are planning your summer holidays, it’s definitely worth checking out their Holiday Shop – So much choice and the price s are so reasonable considering how high quality the pieces are. Just gorgeous!

They have an amazing array of swimwear options, I instantly fell in love with this 70’s inspired high waisted two piece. I just love how high waisted it is, it is so flattering on plus it really holds in that jiggly part of the tummy 😉 One of my fav pieces.

Shop my bikini HERE.

This pretty pastel floral two piece was my second swimwear choice – I love how this style can be worn with straps or as a bandeau (even better for tanning!!).

Maxi Dresses

Comfy (but chic) maxi dresses are the perfect day time look for holidays, and ideal for throwing on over your swimsuit. These are my top picks:

This picture doesn’t even begin to do this black maxi dress justice – The embroidery detail on this is so FAB, it is really comfy to wear plus the straps are detachable. There is a gorgeous low back on this finished with a tie bow. Probably my favourite item from my holidays.

This palm print maxi was another winner for me, it is a more fitted style so I wore it out for dinner one night (with the flat sandals) and then wore it to the pool over my bikini a few days later, such a versatile wearable piece for your holidays and I adore this print!

Summer Style with Littlewoods Ireland

Hey ladies

I am so delighted to have once again teamed up with Littlewoods Ireland for this blog post. I had so much fun shooting these two looks with the lovely photographer Bríd O’Donovan in Herbert Park last week.

Both looks I wore are all from the brand new summer collections from River Island, available on Littlewoods Ireland. What is brilliant about shopping at Littlewoods Ireland is that all of your favourite high street brands are available under one roof – It makes online shopping so much easier. As well as River Island, Littlewoods Ireland also stock Ted Baker, Oasis, Miss Selfridge and Warhouse, to name just a small selection!

Outfit 1

Shop this look HERE

My first outfit is a really classic monochrome look; ideal for a summer occasion, or even a special night out. I absolutely adore the crochet detail on this and I am obsessed with these sleeves – Perfect if you are a little bit conscious of your arms too. See the dress in more detail here.

I styled this dress with these AMAZING heels – I fell in love with the beauties the second I saw them, the pearls and stud detail is just fab. And this season is all about the block heel (which is great as they are so much more comfy!!)

To finish the look I wore this pearl detailed bag (which I am kinda obsessed with – major Chanel vibes going on!)

The second look from Littlewoods Ireland is also all from the new summer collections by River Island, a much more laid back, yet stylish look and gorgeous for the summer.

Good fitting white jeans can be SO hard to find, but I love this pair (I actually have a similar pair from a few years back). They are the “Molly” Jeans (see them here) and they are such a fab fit, nice and high waisted, really stretchy plus they are a nice quality fabric (no one wants see through white jeans!!)

I styled them with this longline embroidered kimono which I LOVE!! I can see me getting so much wear out of this over the summer months – it’s perfect with jeans, and I adore the longer length, especially with white skinnies!! See the kimono in more detail here.

I opted for this simple cami top underneath (see here) but you could style so many different colour tops or cami’s under this kimono (even something as simple as this top would be stunning under it).

Last, but oh my, certainly not least, these khaki sandals are life!!! Absolutely gorgeous colour and would go with so much for the summer, check these beauties out here.

Jeans, €52 *  Kimono, €75  * Top, €35  * Heels, €60 Sunglasses €20

The Style Fairy’s Top 10 Picks

The new River Island summer collection available at Littlewoods Ireland is stunning. Here is a round up of some of my top buys to see you through the summer months in style 🙂

These purple wide leg trousers are so fab and bang on trend for summer, wear with a simple cream or white cami top or t-shirt and strap sandals – Divine! They would also be really nice for holidays worn with flat sandals.

Purple wide leg trousers, €55 Shop here

This yellow blazer is so me – Perfect staple piece for your summer wardrobe, wear with skinny jeans and a simple t-shirt for a chic day time look, or wear draped over your shoulders with a dress for a stylish and sophisticated evening look. Yellow is the colour of the season!

Yellow Blazer, €75 Shop here

This printed kimono is another gorgeous piece for the summer months – I love how it is styled in this picture.

Printed Kimono, €48 Shop Here

Holiday coming up? This playsuit needs to be on your wishlist! The long kimono sleeves are so fab and the colour combination is stunning. Style with flat gladiator sandals and a trilby for a chic day  time look (ideal for a festival!) or glam it up by wearing with high strappy sandals and a biker jacket – Gorgeous!

Kimono sleeve playsuit, €95 Shop here

I have these trousers myself and just love them, they make a chic alternative to jeans for the summer, plus they are super comfy and look equally great styled with loafers or dressed up with block heels. Wear with fine knit jumper or a simple t-shirt top for a laid back, on trend look.

Trousers, €48 Shop here

I adore this embroidered suedette pencil skirt. Fab for a night out over or summer, or it would be gorgeous glamed up for an occasion. Style with a plain, block coloured cami top.

Suedette pencil skirt, €52 Shop here

This is a really classic white top and one that would go with so much in your wardrobe. It would be gorgeous worn tucked into the above pencil skirt and with the above pictured trousers – everyone needs a staple top like this in their wardrobes (It’s also perfect for wearing under blazers with jeans)

White top, €38 Shop here

Dreamy, floaty and floral and I just love the sleeves. This dress is perfect for the summer months (would be very cool for a festival). Style with ankle boots and a denim jacket (or suede biker jacket)

Floral Tunic Dress, €60 Shop here

Looking for the ultimate jeans? Look no further than my all time favourites, Molly jeans from River Island, this light blue wash is dreamy for the summer. They are super comfy, verrrrrry flattering and high waisted – What’s not to love?

Light wash molly jeans, €52 Shop here

This coral colour is fab for summer and would look great styled with the molly jeans (above) OR worn with the white jeans I wore for this photoshoot.

A day at Kildare Village

Hey ladies

Last week the lovely people at Kildare Village invited me down to have a look at the fantastic range of occasion wear options they have for all the family. I had a great time, I hadn’t been down in Kildare Village in so long and had forgotten how lovely it is down there, plus there are so many new shops opened since I had been there last.

For us ladies there is so much choice  from The Kooples, Ted Baker, Reiss, Só Collective (massive array of Irish designers) DVF and French Connection to Kurt Geiger, LK Bennett, Karen Millen and Jigsaw (to name just a small selection!!). See the full list of brands available here. And the discounts to be had are amazing!!! I was quite honestly blown away. If you have something coming up, it is well worth your while to take a trip down!

And it’s not just for us ladies, for the gents there is Hackett, Brooks Brothers, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Jack Wills and for the kiddies there is a massive selection too with the likes of Joules (one of my FAV kids brands – and soooo much cheaper down in Kildare Village), and also Pretty Ballerinas, Hackett, Cath Kidson and more!

If the men need some time out they even have a “Man Cave” where they can hang out and relax – if they get tired shopping with you! Plus for the kids there is a playground. Being down there made me realise it would be a really great place for go for a day with Cormac and Anabelle Ivy, there is so much place for her to run around. Plus there is lots of choice for lunch or coffees if you need a shopping break 😉 There’s Le Pain Quotidien, Dunne & Crescenzi and Joes coffee. Perfect family day out.

img_8543 img_8567

While I was down there I was on the hunt for my ‘Top Picks’ when it comes to occasion wear so whether it’s communion, confirmation, a christening, a summer wedding or the upcoming races (Punchestown is only weeks away!!). Here is just a selection of what caught my eye.

Occassion Wear Favourites

Karen Millen Orchid Dress  RRP €210 Village Price €140 Shoes: Karen Millen, RRP €215 Village Price €130
The Kooples, Red Crepon Dress. RRP €220 Village Price €125

img_8674 img_8683

Reiss ‘Bramley’ Jumpsuit. RRP €260 Village Price €186

Ted Baker ‘Gracen’ dress RRP: €320 OUTLET €168

Karen Millen, Red and Blue stripe dress. RRP €190 Village Price €127

The Kooples, Lace and Flowers chiffon dress. RRP €245 Village Price €140

I could have spent hours more trying on looks, there was just SO.MUCH.CHOICE.

The Kooples is a brand I love, but always find it a wee bit pricey so it’s great to see such massive savings on it in Kiladre Village, same goes for lots of the pieces I tried on – Ted Baker, Karen Millen, Reiss and French Connection.

Hope you enjoyed the post 🙂
