I’m excited to share this recent shoot with you, all too often the looks I shoot for the blog tend to be more glam and dressed up and almost always involved heels, when in reality… I’m a flats woman most of the time!
This shoot was for my website (I am in the middle of a complete website redesign!!) and wanted some more looks that reflected the actual, real life, day-to-day me! This simple, jeans, tee and flats is a classic Naomi off duty look!
I wanted to get some more relaxed, simple ‘me’ shots for the blog too and I’m delighted with how these turned out.
If you’ve been following me for a while you know I am a huge fan of Molly jeans from River Island (see this pair here) They are just the perfect jeans to me – The fit is great and I love the stretchy fabric, so so comfy.
When I spotted this tee in Oasis (see it here) I just fell in love, the shape is so nice on too, and I thought it would be ideal with jeans and a blazer (it’s FAB with white jeans too).
I am really excited to share my latest outfit post in association with Chicwish. Of all the three outfits I have done with Chicwish over the last few months, this is by far my favourite!! View my other occasion wear looks from Chicwish HERE and HERE.
I fell in love with white crochet dress as soon as I saw it. I just love the style and shape, this a-line cut is so flattering to wear too.
I really love the detail on this dress – Especially the collar and the sleeves! View the dress in more detail here.
Chicwish is ideal if you are looking for something that little bit different and is especially brilliant for occasion wear – They have so many stunning dresses and skirts and it makes a nice change from the usual high street shops.
This style of dress really reminds me of the Self Portrait style of dresses, only it is a fraction of the price!! It retails at €61 which is great price for such a high quality dress. Chicwish prices are extremely reasonable and so far (and I have gotten a lot of stuff from them) I have also been blown away by the quality.
Similar Style Dresses
If the collar look on this particular dress is not to your taste, they have similar style white crochet dresses with different necklines, this one has thin straps and a gorgeous a-line shape – see here while this second one is a beautiful off the shoulder style – see here.
Normally I am size M in Chicwish clothing but when I got the M in this dress it was very tight on me (I am usually a standard UK Size 10), so I had to return the M an get the L – The L is a great fit, but I would call it a generous size 10. It was a fraction loose around the waist on me, but perfect everywhere else. The dress starts in a size XS and goes to an XL.
Delivery with Chicwish can take up to 3 or 4 weeks so just be prepared for a wait. There is an option to pay for delivery and that way you can get much quicker delivery, but the free option, defiantly allow yourself some time. I often get asked if I have ever been charged customs or taxes with Chicwish, and no I never have. In fact, Chicwish promise to reimburse you if you are ever accidentally charged.

Photographer: A huge thank you to the awesome Edel O’Malley Photography for the great shots – I LOVE working with Edel, she is really excellent and we always have a great laugh shooting. Check out Edel’s website here.
Makeup: Make up by the incredibly talented Deirdre O ‘Reilly. This is my second tim to have my make up done my Deirdre and I am obsessed – I love her work, she is just brilliant. Check out Deirdre’s blog post on how she created my make up look here.
My wardrobe was in need of a little update so I picked up a few pieces online over the last week or so on Oasis, River Island and ASOS, so I thought I’d share a haul with you. This is not the type of blog post I tend to do, but lots of people have asked me for this, so here goes 🙂 Hope you like it!
I always share most of my recent purchases on my Snapchat too (username: thestylefairy) so follow me there for more 😉
I’m loving the current collection in Oasis, it’s not somewhere I would have shopped in a lot before, but this season I am really impressed. I fell in love with this striped off the shoulder dress so it all started there…. Here’s what I bought:
I love this playsuit – both the style and cut and also the print! I have a friends wedding in Italy later in the summer so it will be perfect for daytime wear over there. The fit is SO flattering on – gorgeous shape.
No wardrobe is complete without plenty of good basic tops, they form the basis of SO MANY looks, you’ve heard me harping on about this before. But this is why I bought the next 3 tops – The pink looks great on its own with jeans, but also perfect for under printed bomber jackets or a navy or white blazer.
The cream top is a staple piece you will find yourself reaching for again and again, the are the type of pieces that just don’t date season after season. They are “seasonless”! The third top is a simple but classic white t-shirt – THE ultimate wardrobe staple, again for under blazers, printed and plain ones, for under card, for wearing with sleeveless jackets, trust me this is just one of those pieces we should all have so when I find a nice one like this I always buy (the fit on this t-shirt is fab)
The last top I bought in Oasis was this striped slogan tee and I LOVE it, I wore it yesterday for a photoshoot I was doing for the blog – so comfy, a great fit, lovely fabric and looks great with jeans and also with a denim mini (see the mini I bought further down in blog post)
I had been drooling over street style images on Pinterest lately of denim mini’s so I had it in mind I wanted one, so when I saw this ASOS one, I thought it was perfect and a good price too. The fit is lovely on!
I love this style of shoe boots; my exact pair are sold out but these are very similar.
Simple, casual, stylish but comfy – a great buy. And my favourite colour 😉 Plus the longer length is great – much more flattering with skinnies I find.
These don’t even need an explanation do they?! Even more fab in person… Trust me 😉
I LOVE this top – I like the length of this and the style. Casual but stylish for every day wear with jeans and flats!
Last but not least, I picked up this ADORABLE denim bomber jacket for Anabelle Ivy (if you follow me on Snapchat (username: thestylefairy) you will have seen her rocking it today – So cute!) It’s really lovely soft fabric too, so it’s nice & comfy for her and great for this time of year!
So if you follow me on Snapchat (username: thestylefairy) you’ll know Cormac and I were at our friends wedding yesterday in the stunning Clonabreany House – Wow what a venue! It was my first night away from Anabelle Ivy since she was born, so I was a little worried (well, more than a little worried, part of me was really dreading leaving her to be honest) but thankfully all was perfect and she was happy as larry with my mum.
In the morning I had my make up done by Deirdre O’Reilly and I was absolutely THRILLED with how it turned out. I went to school with Deirdre and have been following her successful makeup career for a while now (she worked in Mac for years before now becoming freelance) I had wanted to get my make up done with Deirdre for ages now so yesterdays wedding was the perfect excuse. I can honestly say out of all the times I have ever had my make up done, this was by far the absolute best. She is one seriously talented lady!
She really takes her time and really knows how to make the best of your features. It’s that detail and precision that makes her so so good. We went for a matt nude lip with dark ish eyes created with a mix of golds and browns. She applied individual lashes to really open the eye, the focus was also on really defined brows and strong highlighter – Which I love. My make up lasted just perfectly all day too with just a a few lip touch ups.
I wore this midi length blush pink dress from Cari’s Closet. I loved the lace detail on the top and the cut out sides. I got the fascinator online in Accessorize and luckily when it arrived, the colour was the perfect match. I wore my metallic Jimmy Choos and an embellished clutch bag from Penneys (it’s old stock but I’ve included a similar option below)

We had such a fun day and although I missed Anabelle Ivy so so much, it felt great to be out just the us two again! We danced the legs of ourselves and just had a ball! Really paying for it today though but it was so worth it!
Following on from the last occasion wear post featuring Chicwish (you can see it here in case you missed it), this next look is also from Chicwish. It’s a slightly less dressy look in ways, but still definitely occasion wear worthy. And I’m totally in love with this skirt – so classic. There are so many ways you could choose to style it up too! It would be really gorgeous for a wedding or you could really glam it up for the races.
Chicwish are a really brilliant option if your looking for occasion wear and something that’s that bit different than the usual hughstreet shops. I love ALL their full skirts; they really offer some stunning skirts, I’ve got so many from them over the last year or so. My top picks from their current collection would be THIS, THIS, THIS AND THIS. Def worth checking out these beauties.
Unfortunately my exact skirt has now sold out 🙁 BUT I’ve found one almost identical one, see it HERE, and the great news is it’s only €38.60!!
The prices are so so reasonably at Chicwish, and I have always found the quality really excellent. Full skirts are definitely their thing, they do them so well!
The top I matched with is so so versatile, perfect for matching with any skirts, or it would look equally chic worn with some black cigarette pants and killer heels! You can see my top HERE or this one is very similar and really versatile too, it would go with almost any skirt! See it HERE.
My shoes and clutch bag are both old, but you can see similar shoes hereand similar clutch bag here. This skirt would also look fab style with some hot pink heels or if you wanted to tone it down a little you could opt for nude too.
Sizing & Delivery
I often get asked what the sizing is like on Chicwish, it is definitely a little on the smaller fitting side, so do keep that in mind. I went for the size M in this skirt and the fit was perfect – I am a fairly standard UK Size 10. The top I also went for a size M, but other tops i’ve bought from them are size S/M which is like an 8/10.
Delivery with Chicwish can take up to 3 weeks so just keep that in mind too if you are ordering for a specific occasion. There is a free shipping option, with this you will most likely have a wait of 2 – 3 weeks, but if you opt for the paid delivery options you could get your items sooner. I also always get asked if Ive ever had to pay customs/ vat and the answer is no, never with Chicwish. If for some reason you do get charged, email Chicwish and they will reimburse you.
So last week, after what feels like AGES I had my first proper outfit shoot post baby 🙂 It was so fun to be back at it again and I am just so excited to share this look from Chicwish with you!
If you follow me on Snapchat (username: thestylefairy) you may have seen some behind the scenes shots already. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the very lovely Edel O’Malley was my photographer.
I am SO delighted to be collaborating again with Chicwish; this look is the first in a series of occasion wear outfit ideas I’ll be bringing you so stayed tuned for the other looks 😉
I worked with Chicwish before in the early stages of my pregnancy and I am a huge fan of their clothes. I love that you can get something that bit different that’s not on the high street and for me, their ultimate forte is full prom dresses and full skirts, meaning it’s just brilliant for occasion wear. When I saw this AMAZING emerald green prom dress, I knew I wanted to shoot it first, I am so in love with it.
The moment you put it on you just feel so glam and so girly. And the colour, wow, the colour is just magnificent! This shade of emerald green is a real winner with almost all complexions and hair colours, from redheads to blondes and brunettes. The full name of the dress is “Peonies Print Prom Dress” in Emerald, you can see it here.
What I love about this dress is the incredibly feminine and flattering silhouette it gives; I love the nipped in waist and then then the glamour of the full skirt. It floats while you walk.
How I Styled It
I really wanted to pick up on the gold tones in the dress (plus I always think green and gold complement each other so so well, so I decided to style the dress with gold court heels (or see similar here) and a gold belt, I have this belt so long now and it always comes in so handy to pop on with a dress! To finish the look for an occasion I’d opt for a really simple gold clutch. If the gold is a bit too much for you, it wold look great styled with nude heels too.
I think this is such a statement dress it needs little else when it comes to accessories, I just popped on a gold bangle and my pearls (You know me by now, I am never without my pearls!!)
I shop quite a lot on Chicwish, in fact, I have a dress from them that I bought ages ago lined up for a friends wedding this summer and I already can’t wait to wear it. As I said, I like to shop on Chicwish when I am looking for that something a little bit different and for occasion wear it’s hard to get much better, plus their pricing is so reasonable. And you’d be amazed at the quality, this emerald green dress for example is a really fab stiff material, which gives it that really puffy, full prom shape, it feels really luxurious and yet this dress is only €55.26. It looks and feels way more expensive!
One of the main questions I always get about Chicwish is; what is the sizing like? And the answer – It is on the small side. I tend to order one size up. In saying that I went for M in this dress; I am a fairly standard UK10 and this was a great fit, although it was definitely on the snugger side. I am fairly small busted and it was quite neat across the bust in particular, so if you are in any way fuller chested, I would recommend going a size up.
After sizing the next question I always get asked when I share anything from Chicwish is; how long does shipping take? Shipping can take up to 3 weeks – So order in PLENTY of time. If you opt for the free shipping option it will take easily up to 3 weeks, but for the paid for shopping options it can be quicker but just to be on the safe side, leave yourself plenty of time. As for customs/ charges, I have never been charged and in fact Chicwish state explicitly on their website, if you are charged, that you should contact them immediately and they will reimburse you.

Already excited to shoot the next look and share it with you.
Mine was fairly quiet, we had a lovely family day today and went for a big long walk around Dun Laoghaire, followed by a yummy brunch in Kitchen 62 (they do the best eggs!!).
I am always nervous going out to restaurants with Anabelle Ivy as she has a tendency to explode in tears at any given time with out reason (which sometimes doesn’t stop) but thank god today she was a perfect angel and snoozed the whole way through and allowed us to enjoy our brunch! I think it’s all about me getting more confident about being out and about with her, which I know will only come with trying! Anyone with a reflux baby will know my fear of public places!!! Anyway, that’s a story for another day. Here are some snaps of what I wore today… My new trainers arrived and I LOVE them, and oh my god they are so comfy! I’m such a mammy now eh?!! 😉 All about the comfort!
Last weekend my hubby and I went to his cousins wedding in the stunning Tankardstown House. What a venue, I love it there! We had such a great day and the sun shone all day on the gorgeous couple. I’ve had lots of emails about what I wore, as I know lots of you fellow pregnant ladies have weddings coming up, so I thought a blog post was the best idea 🙂
This is not a maternity dress, so if you aren’t pregnant you can keep reading too 😉 The dress is a multi wrap dress by Ethan & Eliza, they come in over 20 different colours and there are at least 20 different ways you can wear them making them an ideal buy for bridesmaids too. But it was perfect for me and my 33 week bump; so so comfy and we all know at this stage of pregnancy that is key!!
I love that I will be able to wear this again post pregnancy and make it look totally different, I think if i was wearing it again, I’d try out the one shoulder way to wear it.
The colour shade I went for is called ‘Azelea’ and I just fell in love with it the moment I saw it. You all know me by now and I know that I love pink!!! It’s just one of my colours and suits me so much better than dark shades or pastels. Plus I do not abide by the notion that as a pregnant woman I should wear dark colours to ‘flatter me’ – After all I am not attempting to hide my bump. If you want to wear bright colours, by all means go for it!
I think this shade of pink looks great with silver so I opted for silver heels (very low and I only lasted a few hours before changing into my flat River Island sandals), an embellished silver clutch and some drop style silver earrings. I bought my dress in Alila Boutique but there are lots of stockists in Ireland and the UK.

I absolutely adore lilac; it’s one of my favourite colours, so when I came across this cute lilac top with peplum on Littlewoods Ireland, I fell in love. It’s not maternity wear, but I just went up a size and it fits perfectly. The little peplum detail gives that extra coverage & length over the bump.
I also love the small sleeve detail on it, plus the top is on sale now!! (Was €44 now €33) Even more reason to buy… 😉 This top would look lovely with white jeans too. Or if you want to glam it up, it would look great with a pencil skirt (it would be so nice worn with a floral print skirt too). I just wore it with my maternity jeans, nude heels, a statement necklace, and finished off with this simple cream blazer.
I love this little cream blazer, also from Littlewoods Ireland (see it here), it is such a versatile piece, and just goes with everything.
This type of blazer is one of those wardrobe staples you will find yourself reaching for over and over again. It will never date. It looks equally well worn with a dress for a night out, as it does with jeans for a day time casual look. I love the 3/4 length sleeves
Have a look at my other recent Littlewoods Ireland purchases here and here.
Hope you enjoyed 🙂
‘Til next time,
A big thank you to the very talented Edel O’Malley photography. Edel specialises in wedding and portrait photography. She also does amazing newborn photography, which I am definitely considering getting done. It’s well worth checking out some of her work on her Facebook page here.
My hair is by Gold Fever and you can read my recent post on them here.
You may have seen last week I shared an outfit post based on my recent haul from Littlewoods Ireland? In case you missed that you can read it here. This latest look is also all from Littlewoods, and actually this midi dress is the same dress from the last post too, except in blue (See it here)
Such a comfy dress and so versatile! Pregnant or not, this is a great wardrobe staple. This rich cobalt blue is also a great colour, as it is so flattering to almost all complexions, and suits blondes, brunettes and redheads equally. Not many colours you can say that about! The fabric in this dress is a jersey material, so it is lovely and stretchy (ideal for me right now!)
This midi dress is the perfect wardrobe staple that you can dress up or down. Dress it up by styling it with a nice chunky statement necklace, some heels and finish with a blazer.
Equally if you wanted to dress this down, you could pop on a long cardi and ballet flats for a more casual look! I really love it styed with this floral blazer (see the blazer here) Love how the blue is picked up in the blazer too. Plus it would see you right thorough Autumn too (sorry is it too soon to mention Autumn yet?!)
This is a gorgeous blazer and again one that could be styled in lots of ways! It would look really great with a simple t-shirt or top and some black skinny jeans!
