I’ve found my skin really dull and tired looking lately, well since becoming a mum really, a lot of it has to do with sleep deprivation I think. But it just seemed so dehydrated and I’m starting to get lots more fine lines (not happy about that!!)

Anyway, over the past 6 weeks or so I have been using two key skincare products which, combined, I do think they are making a big difference, my skin is just healthier looking and definitely looks more hydrated.

Also, I think so much of it has got to do with routine, and being consistent with your skincare (up until now I have been a bit lazy about it!) That, plus I have really tried to up my water intake lately and that is defiantly helping me.

My Current Skin Savers

  1. Bare Minerals “Skinlongevity” Vital Power Infusion, €55 at Brown Thomas

I have been using this now for about 8 weeks and I really like it. Actually, I love it and i feel it is really improving my skin. I use it twice a day – two pumps morning and evening over a cleansed face and neck.

What does it promise?

“Designed to revive and help maintain your skin’s most vibrant look of health, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. With a Long Life Herb Extract at its core, the formula helps to promote skin’s vitality, replenishing it with moisture and reawakening the look of youth”

Does it work?

So far, so good. I am VERY impressed. Skin feels so good after it, lovely and smooth. The smell is divine too. Works nice as a primer before any make up too.  It is new to Brown Thomas & retails at €55. See it HERE.

2. Glamglow, “Thirstymud” Hydrating Treatment Mask, €61 at Sam McCauley Chemists / Cloud10beauty.com (€56)

I’ve read the hype, everyone SWEARS by this stuff, so I finally gave in and got some. I opted for the ‘Thirsty Mud’ as it best suited my skin complaints (dull, tired, dehydrated). I’ve been using this for a month (once a week, sometimes twice). And I reeeeaaaaaly think it gives a great boost of hydration.

What does it promise?

“An extreme hydration treatment to rescue thirsty skin. GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment boasts 4 of the newest, most advanced and extreme hydration active technologies, providing deep and instant extreme hydration for long, medium and short term results. Hydrating Treatment will hydrate, moisturise, restore, replenish and calm the skin”

Does it work?

In short… yes. I have noticed a big difference. The directions say you can leave on for 10-20 minutes, but a couple of times, I have applied just before bed and slept with it on, and I always notice a big improvement the next morning! It comes with a hefty price tag, but i do feel it’s worth it!

I bought mine in Sam Mc Cauley chemist and it was €61. See HERE. It’s also available on Cloud10beauty.com for €56 but they are currently out of stock. Lots of other leading pharmacies stock it too.

Hope you enjoyed 🙂

‘Til next time
