Rock some leather

Style Report: Leather Trousers

Whether you love them or hate them, leather pants are a trend that always crop up every year. This season more than ever leather pants are really in and there are lots of styles available in stores right now. They are a great winter look and a great alternative to jeans to dress up a simple outfit.

2013-summer-trend-wearing-blackThere is a certain level of fear with wearing leather trousers, and there is no denying that they are little bit more suited to those blessed in the long leg department but that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to rule them out completely.

Leather pats also look really cool when worn with very chunky knit jumpers. The trick with nailing this look (for the non Victoria’s Secret models among us) is to wear looser fitting clothes on top and for the very nervous, opt for longer length tops to cover your bum & hips.

The Style Fairy’s top picks:

You don’t need to break the bank and go for really expensive leather to pull of this look, the shops are full of lots of really great leather-look trousers andย leggings. This pair from River Islandย are gorgeous. There is a nice bit of stretch in them so you won’t get caught in a Ross from Friends type situation. The key with leather pants, is to wear some really high heels to elongate the leg and create a super sexy look.

These stunning leather trousers by Boutique in Topshopย are slightly pricey, but they are really good quality leather. There is really cool zip detail at the bottom of the legs, they are also a nice cropped length, meaning you can show off some killer heels with these bad boys. What’s good about these is that you can really dress them up or down depending on the occasion. Team with chunky knits for day time and a blazer and heels or night time glam.

These leather panel trousers from Ted Bakerย are uber cool. These are ideal for someone who doesn’t want the all over leather look, plus they have a nice stretch to them too because of the fabric content. Pair them with a longer style black top, pop on a chunky faux fur coat, and a pair of high heeled ankle boots and this is a really trendy, and sexy look!

ASOS have a huge selection of leather and leather look trousers and leggings in right now. Def worth a look. The gold zip detail and croc skin effect on these ones makes them a winner in our eyes. Team these with a blouse, buttoned to the top, with a statement neckpiece, some metallic heels and a blazer and this is a super glam party look.

For something a little different than your standard black, these high waisted tan & black leather trousers from ASOS are a great option, and the price tag is pretty nice too!! These are not for everyone though, and are probably more suited to the seasoned leather trouser wearing gal who is already confident wearing leather. I can see these worn with a really chunky cream knit jumper and some biker boots.
