Packing my hospital bag

This blog is very much aimed at my fellow mamas-to-be; so many of you have emailed and asked me what I am packing in my hospital bag so now that my bag is finally packed, I thought I’d do a quick blog post on it.

The truth is, I am as clueless as anyone else, as a first time mammy, it’s a case of trying to learn as I go. So I know, even before I post this I will be sent so many emails from veteran mammies telling me I am wrong, or a don’t need X and I do need Y and not to be wasting money on one thing or another, but we all have to learn our own ways. ย Your advice is all welcome, but this blog post is just my personal preferences on what I am packing ๐Ÿ™‚ and I hope that it might be useful for others who are starting to plan their hospital bag So, please… Go easy on me!!

The Bag

I bought myself a new bag for hospital, this is clearly not a necessity and if you have a decent sized weekend bag or holdall already the you are sorted. ย I went for this Pink Lining Holdall which I bought in Mothercare, I love the print and the size is ideal for future use again. It’s huge!

Maternity Nightwear

I don’t know about you but I have found it tricky getting nice maternity sleep wear/ lounge wear (And before you say it, yes I know lots of you prefer to just go a few sizes up on normal pjs/ nightdresses so that’s a great option too!)
I got some lovely pieces from Elora Maternity, Mothercare and Hot Milk lingerie (LOVE their stuff). Other places that I love for pj’s are Dunnes Stores, Heatons, Penneys, TK Maxx and Debenhams.

Dressing Gowns/ Robes & Slippers

There are some really gorgeous fluffy robes in Heatons right now – Def worth checking them out. Plus Dunnes Stores have some great ones. I don’t think you need to go for a maternity robe as one size up is usually perfect in a robe but if you did want to go for a maternity one then be sure to check out Mothercare. My pink dressing robe was a gift from my husband and ย I really love it!
