Land Rover Style Award 2014
The inaugural Land Rover Style Award took place at the Punchestown Festival last Friday 2nd May 2014. I was delighted to be asked to be part of the team to help scout the winner and search for the most stylish lady on the day!
I kicked my day off with a trip to Brown Sugar in Blackrock for hair & make up, where the amazing Cara & Lara worked their magic!
The team of scouts on the day included myself, the lovely Becky and Alex from Pink Elephant Blog, as well as judges Rozanna Purcell, Nuala Carey and Marietta Doran.
This year the whole notion of what it takes to win the Most Stylish Lady Award was turned on its head. We were briefed to search for ladies who had a unique sense of style, who stood out from the crowd, someone who had fresh take on their racing style. There was an obvious move away from what we typical know and associate as “Race Day Style”!
We had to choose ten finalists from the huge crowds, who went through to the final on the main stage at 4pm. There was a fantastic buzz as we whipped through the crowds searching for style that stood out to us!
Land Rover brand ambassador Amy Huberman (who got stuck in traffic and was over an hour late) arrived to present the award to the winner and hand over the keys to a Land Rover Evoque, which the lucky winner will have the use of for a whole year! Stunning as always, Amy wore a cream dress from Reiss and a sequin jacket from Folkster.
And the winner is….
The winner of the Land Rover Style Award 2014 was Emer Flanagan from Naas. From the first moment all of us judges and scouts spotted Emer in the crowds, we all loved her chic, effortless sense of style.
Emerย wore a Maje structured navy blue dressed with a stunning Max Mara camel coat, stylishly worn over her shoulders. Her bag was Chanel, while her shoes were from Kurt Geiger and her hat was purchased at the Punchestown Festival only the day before!!! Emer was over the moon to win, and later told us how the dress had been bought for her engagement party last Christmas!
Once my scouting duties were done for the day I spent the rest of the evening enjoying the races with my hubby!
