Festival Fashion: Electric Picnic Style

With arguably the best festival of the year Electric Picnic, just around the corner, it is time to talk festival fashion.
Those of you who are lucky enough to attend this years Electric Picnic will already be thinking about what items to pack for this fun filled weekend.
The laid back boho vibe is certainly the theme of the weekend and these fashionistas know all about nailing that chilled out look.

Festival Fashion Inspiration

I can’t promise you will look this stylish and effortlessly thrown together after two nights sleeping in a tent but I can advise you on the five must have items to pack for this years’ festival.
Here are my top five festival favourites

1. Outerwear

Let’s face it the Irish Weather is far from predictable and when you are out in the outdoors all day you need to be prepared for all eventualities. This is why the khaki parka coat is my No.1 festival essential.
If we are very blessed with the weather, a check shirt or light kimono are also great for throwing on in the evenings

2. Shorts

A good pair of denim shorts are worth their weight in gold. One pair of denim shorts should see you right through the weekend.
Pair yours with a crochet halter neck or classic breton stripe t-shirt.

3. Printed Piece

When I think of festival fashion the first thing I think of is fabulous printed dresses. The secret is to keep accessories to a minimum and let the fabulous print do the talking.
Packing dresses or playsuits is also a great idea if you are looking to cut down on space, they are a ready-made outfit in one.

4. Footwear

Although your footwear choice can be weather dependant you can’t really go wrong with wellingtons and ankle boots.
I particularly love these chain detail wellingtons from Zara – who knew welly boots could be both functional and glamorous 🙂

5. Head Gear

Festival season is the time to pull out all those beautiful head pieces that you bought but are not quite confident enough to wear day-to-day.
Accessorising with a hat, turban, head-piece or flower crown transforms a simple casual outfit into a stylish festival ready look.
