Trend Report: The Midi Skirt

Banish those mini’s and maxi’s to the back of your wardrobe. This season is all about the midi.

The longer length midi skirt is a huge trend this season and is a really stylish and elegant alternative to the mini skirt.

The only warning is to always wear a midi skirt with heels!! This length, which falls at the calf or below can be quite harsh when worn with flats. I am a huge fan of the midi, from pleated to pencil or even prom style skirts. I just love them. There is something so demure and feminine about a longer length skirt, plus it gives us a whole new look to have fun with for the Spring Summer 2014 season.

Everything about this skirt from ASOS is perfect – the colour, the shape, the fabric, the pleats, right down to the price tag!

Sexy and slinky, this lace midi skirt (which is now on sale) in Oasis is absolutely smokin’! Understated, oh-so demure and yet oozing with sexiness. Slip this on with some killer heels and a simple silk cami style vest top.

This mint coloured tafetta midi skirt from Topshop is perfect. It has a great 1950’s vibe. This skirt is quite the statement so keep your upper half half simple by pairing it with a casual cream or white vest or t shirt and slip on a blazer. For the brave pair it with a crop top!

ASOS does it yet again! They have an incredible selection of midi skirts in right now. We are in love with this peplum hemmed one. It has a really fashion forward edge and we dig that. You could really do a lot with this skirt and it would be a great look for a wedding if you teamed it with a dressy top.

This graphic print, high waisted midi from Warehouse is much more understated than many we have looked at so far. The colour and shape of this is super flattering. Pair is with a black crop top, pop on a fur gilet and some rocking high black heels.
