Currently Craving…Green

Green is one of my favourite colours. It’s bold, it’s beautiful and it goes with almost anything. Despite the age-old saying “Blue and Green should never be seen…”, we know us colleens are the exception to that rule.

So for the day that’s in it and to pass the time between now and kick off, keep scrolling to see our favourite green finds…

If you’re not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day, it’s still a fun excuse to go out with your friends or partner – even if it is a Hallmark holiday. While classic reds and pinks might be an obvious choice, classic whites in sensuous textures or a little black dress still give nod to our favourite romantic holiday.

Whether you’re in need of a more casual daytime look or a “going-all-out” outfit, keep scrolling to see the most stylish outfits to wear this Valentine’s Day.

30 Dresses and Jumpsuits Your Bridal Squad Will Love

Choosing the perfect dresses for your bridesmaids can be tricky as everyone has their own unique style and preference when it comes to colours and design. Thankfully, there are so many beautiful dresses to choose from so striking the balance between what you love and what your BFFs will feel beautiful and comfortable in has never been easier.

Things to consider…

  1. The style of your dress: all eyes will be on you on your special day but you definitely want to make sure your look coordinates with your bridesmaids. If your dress has a lot of intricate detailing it might be an idea to pare things back and opt for a more simple design for your girls.
  2. Choose your colour wisely: picking the perfect colour is definitely one of the biggest challenges. The colour you choose should complement the theme of your wedding, the venue and of course the season but most of all it should suit your BFFs. You know your friends well, so stay true to the colour that suits them. Most bridesmaid dresses are available in several shades so you’re sure to find the style you love in a colour that suits everyone.
  3. Be considerate of body types: the rule of one size fits all definitely does not apply to bridesmaid shopping. An A-line bridesmaid dress is universally flattering, so if your bridesmaids are different shapes, this may be your safest bet. Another great and very trendy option is the mismatched look. The most important thing is that your girls feel confident and comfortable.
  4. Don’t be afraid to order different styles: ASOS has seriously upped its bridesmaid game. If you spot a dress or several dresses you absolutely love, don’t be afraid to order them. If you don’t like the style when it arrives don’t panic, you can return it and start your search again.

4 “Dressy Casual” Looks We Love

When there’s no dress code, deciding whether to wear a dressy or casual outfit can be tricky. More often than not we resort to the “What are you wearing?” text message to make sure we’re not way off the mark. 🙂 So we’ve decided to pull together some “Dressy Casual” looks that are perfect for any occasion. Keep scrolling for some inspo…

Outfit One

Culottes never really go out of style but pairing them with a slogan white tee and leopard print shoes is one way to ensure your outfit is right on trend. Swap out the denim jacket for a black blazer for an on-duty look you’ll love.

A satin cami is one of the sexiest and stylish wardrobe staples a girl can own. We love how it’s styled here with a chunky knit and boyfriend jeans but this versatile piece can be worn with leather look jeans, skirts, culottes and just about anything in your wardrobe. 🙂

Occasion Wear: The Suit

Hi ladies

We know here at Style fairy HQ that you ladies are always on the hunt for occasion wear ideas; whether it is a christening, upcoming communion or confirmation or a wedding. With that I’m mind, I have complied a new occasion wear post… But with a focus on suits! Or co-ords as they’re called! All of us want something that bit different for a special occasion and a suit is the perfect alternative to a dress or skirt. I personally am a huge fan!

The perfectly tailored suit strikes the perfect balance between being glamorous, elegant, chic and sexy too. Not to mention, bang on trend right now too.

How to Style a Suit

Over Christmas I wore a black tuxedo suit from ASOS , I wore just a lace bralet underneath and finished the look with a belt around the waist (which helps create a more feminine silhouette by cinching you in at your waist). I opted for gold heels a to add some glam.

The only thing you always need to be cautious about when styling a suit is to make sure it doesn’t look like a work suit!

But with the right styling, a suit is one of my all time favourite looks! Some ideas to style your suit into the perfect look:

  • Opt for statement heels – gold or leopard print, pink or even zebra can look so chic styled with a solid block coloured suit
  • Wear a Lace bralet and add a belt
  • Wear a silk or satin coloured came underneath
  • Add some statement earrings
  • Add a pop of colour with a statement clutch bag

Here is a round up of my favourite suits/ co -ord sets available online now. Some really gorgeous options

Hope you enjoyed the post and promise we have lots more occasion wear ideas coming your way soon 😉

Denim Jackets: A Girl’s Best Friend

A denim jacket is probably one of the most versatile, wear with anything, wardrobe staples you will ever own. My obsession with denim jackets is all too real but every year I leave it too late to invest in one – so this year the search for the perfect Spring layering piece starts now.

From classic to cropped, oversized to distressed, whatever your preference, a denim jacket will be your go-to piece to finish off any outfit in style. Wear it over a cute slogan tee and black skinny jeans to keep things casual or layer it over your favourite dress for an effortlessly chic look you’ll love.

Just like jeans, denim jackets come in all shades of blue and every other colour. A jacket in a medium wash denim is the most versatile but we’re pretty tempted by some of these more vibrant styles too. Keep scrolling for 30 styles we’re currently craving…

Nasty Gal Haul

Hi ladies

Nasty Galhave a massive sale on right now so I couldn’t resist picking up a few pieces that have been in my cart for a while 😉 Anyone else do that? Pretty much any site I have open I have all may favourites saved !! Lol

I ordered these pieces Monday and they arrived within two days! So excited to style up some of these pieces in my wardrobe. This faux fur coat is a steal, it feels SO soft on and think it would look great worn with jeans and boots. The leopard print skirt and the pink skirt are my next two favourite buys – I will wear these with chunky knits and ankle boots or you could easily dress them up too! Actually the leopard print skirt would also look very chic worn with a black polo neck and knee high boots, oh and add a black belt!

The two slogan t-shirts I bought (which were around €10 each) are good staples for your wardrobe, because they look nice worn under a multitude of blazers or even worn tucked into a midi skirt (or black leather look skirt)

I’ll share outfit pics as I wear the various pieces so you can see how I ended up styling them but wanted to give you all the heads up on the sale as I see the pieces are flying out fast! Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉

Moody Monday: Lilac & Green

We’ve had a lot of queries about occasionwear in the last few days so when we came across this look, we couldn’t help but think of how perfect it would be for a Communion or Confirmation.

We love absolutely everything about this outfit. The colour combo is stunning and it’s such an easy look to pull together. If you love it as much as we do, keep scrolling to steal Blair’s style…

Outfit Three

If you love this colour combo as much as we do but want to keep things a little casual, swap the blouse for a trendy tee like this one and layer over a leather jacket to complete the look.

If you want to reverse the look, opt for a lilac skirt and a green blouse.  The same accessories will still work with this combo!

Hairstyle

knot your average bun. 🙂 A super simple low bun works well on short hair and long hair and would be perfect with this outfit!
