Work Wear Outfit Ideas

Work wear can be a tricky one, quite often it is an area we don’t want to spend too much money on, yet on the other hand work clothes are what we spend the most time in!! So I don’t think it’s as an area that can be skimped on too much either. In fact, I think, where possible, it is worthwhile investing in quality here, so it will last longer!

Work Wear Inspiration

For some of you, work wear doesn’t even come in to it if you wear a uniform for example, and then there are some who are in very formal corporate roles where suits every day are a must, this blog post is aimed at those who are somewhere in the middle I guess. Office based, but in a slightly less formal environment. It is often the most difficult office to dress for.

Building Your Work Wear Wardrobe

Quite often I get asked both on the blog and with personal shopping clients; what basics should I have to build the perfect work wear wardrobe? The ideal work wear wardrobe is all about versatility, having items that match and work across the whole wardrobe. Opt for classic colours that can all work with each other. Some key items for building a great work wear wardrobe are;
– A great fitting white shirt
– Tailored black cigarette trousers (ankle length or longer if desired)
– A good fitting (comfy) pencil skirt
– The perfect workwear dress
– In terms of colours; black, white, cream, grey and neutrals like beiges, pinks, biscuit tones are ideal.
– Nude heels
– Smart flat shoes (brogues can be ideal)
– A tan leather (or neutral) handbag
– A camel (or beige) mac

Given the time of year, I wanted to stay away from too much black, and introduce some nice, light neutrals which suit all skin tones and are so easy to mix and match with each other. Make sure to lets know which look is your favourite ๐Ÿ™‚
