The Mammy Diaries: Things I Couldn't Live Without

Hi ladies
It’s been a while since I have shared an up-to-date “Things I couldn’t live without” blog post and I have uncovered lots of new gems lately that I want to share with you. In case you missed my other instalments in this series, check out the first one HEREย (Featuring items like the Gummee Glove, Ewan The Sheep (Thank the lord for Ewan!!!) and then my second instalment HEREย (which features items like my Mountain Buggy baby carrier and the Beaba Babycook – another GODSEND!!).
Now Anabelle Ivy is 6 months (How did that happen?? Time is going too fast) we are at a whole new stage with her, so in with the old and out with the new. She is full of fun these days and mad for activity. It can be a mind field knowing what products you should invest in and what is a waste of time, so here’s some items we are loving at the moment. These are all just based on my personal experience and what we find is working best for our little monkey!

1. ย Stokke Tripp Trapp

Buying your highchair is a big decision, like most things when it comes to baby shopping, there are LOADS of options. And me being the geek I am, I did lots of research on this too (Like the buggy shopping…. I looked at almost EVERY buggy before picking my Joolz – See that blog HERE). In the end, we decided to go for the Stoke Tripp Trappย highchair.

I had heard so many great reports on it and I love that it transforms as the baby grows bigger, right from baby, through toddler stage to child and eventually teen/ adult. Plus I love the sleek look if it. We went for the wheat yellow colour (it matches our kitchen!) and opted for the butterfly print cushion. The Stoke Tripp Trapp is a big investment, but in saying that it’s not an item you will be getting rid of any time soon, it will be with us for ages so it’s well worth the investment.

Plus so far Anabelle Ivy LOVES it too. It is at table height so now we can bring her right into the table with us and she just loves sitting up with us and interacting. There are lots of colour options on the chair itself and some really cute prints for the cushion (which by the way is wipeable!!)

2. Sleeyhead Grand

In a previous post you will have heard me talk about the Sleepyhead Deluxe we bought, I WISH I known about it sooner, she sleeps so so well in it, it’s so cosy. I didn’t get it til she was about 4 months sooner and it is such a shame we didn’t know about these before then and we might have all gotten more sleep!!!

The first one we had the Sleepyhead Deluxe (Pictured above) is for 0 -8 months but our little lady has grown out of it already (she is v tall), so even though it could be opened at the bottom, it was getting too neat on the sides so we decided to invest in the Sleepyhead Grand which is for 8 – 36 months. It’s MASSIVE, but still fits perfectly in her cotbed, and praise the lord she is sleeping SO WELL in it. It mimics the feeling of being held, it is so soft and cosy. Another big investment, but personally I would pay anything for a better nights sleep for us all!!! This has to be one of my all time best buys and this larger version we have now. View it HERE.

3. GroBag

We have been using blankets up until now, but we are at the stage now where Anabelle Ivy is messing with the blankets, pulling them up around her face ย and kicking them off her legs, so I knew we needed to get ourselves a Grobag.

We only picked this up very recently and it is brilliant, no messing around, no pulling the blankets up or down and is so cosy. 2.5 tog is recommended for all year round. See them HERE.

4. Fisher Price Rainforest Spacesaver Jumperoo

Personally I love the jumper, I know some people may be opposed to them and that’s totally fine, I find it great and Anabelle LOVES it.

We would leave her in it for maybe 5 – 10 minutes max at a time and also always be very careful about their legs in it and how hey are positioned, but I am not going to get into that whole side of things as that’s a discussion for another day. But if you are considering one, we have the Rainforest Space Saver Jumper from Fischer Price and it’s perfect for us, it doesn’t take up too much space plus is can be completely folded up which is handy, as if you are like us, space is tight!!!

5. Activity Mat

We bought this before our little lady even arrived and it is definitely a ‘must have’.

It’s in the last month or so when she is really getting fun out of it. It’s great not only for lying on her back but for tummy time too! Now she is able to reach up and grab all the animals and she is loving it!

6. Tommee Tippe Bottle Warmer

One of those items you could probably manage perfectly without, but we find the bottle warmer very handy! This is one we have and it fits almost all bottles (we use Dr Brownes bottles).

8. Dribble Bibs

Anabelle Ivy is teething now so a dibbler is a necessity at all times as she is socking her clothes. We have a selection of great bibs from BabyBoo, Kosy Baby, Zippy & Jack & Jillaroo. These brands stock gorgeous bandana style bibs in really beautiful colours and prints. Definitely my favourites and really great quality too.

I could keep writing for ages, but I think I’ll leave it there and I’ll be back soon once we uncover some interesting products to share with you ๐Ÿ˜‰
Hope you enjoyed
Love,
Naomi & Anabelle Ivy xxx
