Outfit Diaries: Sequins

I’m delighted to be included in this months Xposรฉ Magazine in their “How We Wear It” feature. This months feature was all about how to wear sequins and the wonderfully talented photographer Sheila Rooneyย ย (a fellow Cavan lady!) captured some great shots for me!

I love sequins but I think you can always run the risk of being a little tooย sparkly, for me the key is to go for one sequins piece in your look and keep all else relatively simple and muted.

I went for this gold sequins crop top from TFNC, I bought it in Topshop but it’s sold out there now, but you can buy it straight from the TFNC website hereย . Be warned it is a crop top so you do need to wear it something high waisted! It also has a matching skirt, personally I wouldn’t wear them together but as separates I think they are fab! The skirt would look stunning with a simple black top (See it here).
3I teamed the sequins top with this black pencil skirt from River Island (Check it out here). This pencil skirt has a gold zip going up the front but because I was wearing it with this sequins top I thought it looked a little busy so I wore the skirt back to front!! ๐Ÿ™‚
1My shoes are from Zara (now sold out)! Every fashionista should have a classic pair of black pointy toe heels in their wardrobe, these ones have gold detail on the heel which worked well with this outfit (See similar hereย or here)
2 5My earrings are a very recent purchase from Covet Boutique in Powerscourt and I have been wearing them SO MUCH lately! Covet has a lovely selection of accessories and all so unique looking! Def worth having a look.
6The cuff bracelet was a gift but it is from Stella & Dot, and it’s such a versatile piece as it has both gold and silver through it!
4This woven clutch is from Accessorize, I have it a while but it’s the type of clutch I find myself reaching for over and over again! Even if I am just wearing a plain LBD it looks great!
7A special thank you to the very talented and very lovely Sheila Rooney for working on this shoot with me. We had so much fun and are planning on working together again in 2015 so stay tuned ๐Ÿ™‚ Sheila specialises in wedding and engagement photography and her work is well worth checking out.
