This style of bardot top is so universally flattering – it is loose and comfy around the tummy areas, plus it is a slightly longer length (so ideal for wearing with skinnies) and it emphasises your shoulders – no matter your size or shape, your shoulders are always going to be a really elegant, feminine focal point, and this style top really draws the eye to slim shoulders. Top Tip: Apply some body highlighter or shimmer to the collar bone area and tops of the shoulders to really highlight them and make them nice and glowy.

Picking the right jeans for your body shape

I opted for a simple pair of denims with this look and no surprise which jeans I wore? Yep, Molly’s from River Island (see them here) From my years of personal shopping with all shapes and sizes, I found almost all shapes can be catered for with River Island jeans – I love that they have short, regular and long lengths and they also now have a plus size range. I always buy the ‘Regular’ length. I personally find the ‘Molly’ style a winner for me and I am a very classic pear shape (this means I have a smaller waist but larger hips and bum and a longer torso which would be classic pear shape characteristics). Another style worth trying and especially for slimmer builds is the ‘Amelie’ style.

Molly style jeans come in high waisted and mid wasted styles which are brilliant if you are tummy conscious as they really hold you in. So that’s a classic ‘Apple’ shape if you carry more weight in your tummy area but have slim legs.
I find ladies with a slimmer build overall and longer slim legs tend to go for the ‘Amelie’ style jeans.

Other brands of jeans I recommend trying if you are on the hunt for the ‘perfect fitting jeans’ are; Salsa Jeans, Freddy jeans, and ‘Leigh’ style jeans in Topshop.

For maternity jeans (a question I get asked all the time), I think everyone is so different, but personally I lived in the New Look over the bump jeans & ASOS leggings. See styles I loved during my pregnancy HERE.

Heels

Ah my rose gold heels, do I even need to say why I love the beauties? I got these in River Island but they are sold out now, but… Fear not, I’ve found an identical pair (also cheaper) here.

Rose gold and metallics a huge trend for Autumn/ Winter and what I love about these heels is, much like a classic pair of nude court heels, they will go with EVERYTHING! The perfect colour and ideal for a more casual look, like here with my jeans, but they are equally gorgeous with a dress or a glam skirt!

Hi: I just wanted to say that I love your blogs! I first starting following your posts when I was desperately looking for inspiration to dress my bump! Now 13wks postpartum I just purchased my first pair of mid-rise Molly jeans and OMG it’s the first time in months I feel me again! They are definitely the best fitting jeans ever!
