Outfit Diaries: Lavish Alice for Littlewoods Ireland

I recently did a big haul on Littlewoods Ireland. I am a big fan of Littlewoods; they have such an amazing range of bands on offer from Lavish Alice and Oasis, to Coast, Lipsy and Superdy! Anyway, my wardrobe was in need of a little update, especially with this ever expanding bump of mine!!! So I wanted to share some of my new purchases with you. First up, this classic midi length LBD and beige cape.

When it comes to buying maternity wear I think we all feel the same; we need it and you want to feel good BUT at the same time are reluctant to spend too much money on something that we won’t be wearing post baby, so with this look I opted for “normal'” clothes, that yes, flatter and fit the bump but at the time will be stylish & wearable post baby too! I just went up a size ๐Ÿ˜‰

So this is not an outfit just for my fellow pregnant gals reading this ๐Ÿ™‚ This is for everyone!!

Why we all need a good LBD

You know I am fond of colour, but in saying that, you can never have enough simple black dresses in your wardrobe. ย This is a really simple, really basic black dress that can be so easily dressed up or down. (See the dress here) It is a nice stretchy fabric so it is super comfy and ideal for pregnant ladies too!

You could really dress this up by popping on some heels, a statement necklace and a great blazer or a cape. An LBD acts like blank canvas so it’s super easy to glam it up by adding say a vibrant printed or floral blazer if you wanted to add some colour.

It is also an easy one to dress down; just wear with some sandals or pumps and finish with a ย long length cardigan. This is a really versatile dress and at โ‚ฌ27 the price is pretty great too! Another thing I love about this dress is the length, I love longer midi length styles, I just think they are so much more flattering and elegant.

I can see myself getting so much wear out of it too. It finishes this LBD off nicely but I think it would also look great just with jeans and a top. Plus it is super flattering over my bump ๐Ÿ˜‰

SIZES

In the cape I went for a standard size 10 and the fit is perfect. In the dress I opted for a size 12, it fits nicely over my bump plus there is a lovely stretch in it, it’s a nice soft jersey fabric. If you are pregnant too, I suggests opting for a size up from your pre pregnancy size like I did, and for non pregnant gals, the sizing is very accurate.
