If you follow me on Snapchat (username: thestylefairy) you may have seen some behind the scenes shots already. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the very lovely Edel O’Malley was my photographer.
275A0164I am SO delighted to be collaborating again with Chicwish; this look is the first in a series of occasion wear outfit ideas I’ll be bringing you so stayed tuned for the other looks ๐Ÿ˜‰

I worked with Chicwish before in the early stages of my pregnancy and I am a huge fan of their clothes. I love that you can get something that bit different that’s not on the high street and for me, their ultimate forte is full prom dresses and full skirts,ย meaning it’s just brilliant for occasion wear.ย When I saw this AMAZING emerald green prom dress, I knew I wanted to shoot it first, I am so in love with it.

The moment you put it on you just feel so glam and so girly. And the colour, wow, the colour is just magnificent! This shade of emerald green is a real winner with almost all complexions and hair colours, from redheads to blondes and brunettes. The full name of the dress is “Peonies Print Prom Dress” in Emerald, you can see itย here.

What I love about this dress is the incredibly feminine and flattering silhouette it gives; I love the nipped in waist and then then the glamour of the full skirt. It floats while you walk.

How I Styled It

I really wanted to pick up on the gold tones in the dress (plus I always think green and gold complement each other so so well, so I decided to style the dress with gold court heelsย (or see similar here)ย and a gold belt, I have this belt so long now and it always comes in so handy to pop on with a dress!ย ย To finish the look for an occasion I’d opt for a really simple gold clutch. ย If the gold is a bit too much for you, it wold look great styled with nude heels too.

I think this is such a statement dress it needs little else when it comes to accessories, I just popped on a gold bangle and my pearls (You know me by now, I am never without my pearls!!)

I shop quite a lot on Chicwish, in fact, I have a dress from them that I bought ages ago lined up for a friends wedding this summer and I already can’t wait to wear it. As I said, I like to shop on Chicwish when I am looking for that something a little bit different and for occasion wear it’s hard to get much better, plus their pricing is so reasonable. And you’d be amazed at the quality, this emerald green dress for example is a really fab stiff material, which gives it that really puffy, full prom shape, it feels really luxurious and yet this dress is only โ‚ฌ55.26. It looks and feels way more expensive!

Sizing

One of the main questions I always get about Chicwish is; what is the sizing like? And the answer – It is on the small side. I tend to order one size up. In saying thatย I went for M in this dress; I am a fairly standard UK10 and this was a great fit, although it was definitely on the snugger side. I am fairly small busted and it was quite neat across the bust in particular, so if you are in any way fuller chested, I would recommend going a size up.

Shipping

After sizing the next question I always get asked when I share anything from Chicwish is; how long does shipping take? Shipping can take up to 3 weeks – So order in PLENTY of time. If you opt for the free shipping option it will take easily up to 3 weeks, but for the paid for shopping options it can be quicker but just to be on the safe side, leave yourself plenty of time.ย As for customs/ charges, I have never been charged and in fact Chicwish state explicitly on their website, if you are charged, that you should contact them immediately and they will reimburse you.
