Red lips are always in fashion and a look we are guaranteed to see on the runway each season. With so many to choose from, bright red, dark red, blue under tones and with so many brands to choose from I can understand why some women steer clear but I am here to help you get your red lips sorted for the festive season ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Rules

As a general rule of thumb, the lighter your eye colour and the lighter your hair you would then choose a true red shade. Medium hair shades can go for a more pink red tone and darker hair shades and eyes would go for bold, deeper red shades. But there is the exception to every rule and that is why I suggest, sitting down with the make up consultant and having some fun by trying out a few shades. If you don’t try you’ll never know, and practice does make perfect, so stick with it.

The Tips

Untitled

  • Line your Lips. If you follow the diagram above it will help you apply liner and this will make sure your lipstick does not bleed out past your natural lip line and look un tidy. Choose a liner shade that is closest to the lipstick you are wearing.
  • Prime your lips. After you line your lips set them with some translucent powder. By doing this it will prolong the lasting power of your lipstick.
  • Minimal make up: When you wear red lips it’s best to keep your eye make up minimal and add an extra bit of blush to the apples of your cheeks to make sure your cheeks donโ€™t look washed out.
  • Fix the edges: If you make a mistake you can use a cotton bud to correct any errors and smooth out any harsh lines.
